An essential aspect of professionalism in representing SSDI/SSI claimants is to recognize and manage client boundaries. This presentation includes such topics as transference and countertransference, understanding and managing clients with personality disorders; and working with clients who are infatuated with the representative, overly dependent upon the rep, angry and irritable, delusional and suspicious, potentially violent and/or suicidal.
